Nancy McFarland
SoCal Photo Solutions Founder
APPO Certified Photo Organizer
Nancy turned her passion for preserving photos and family stories into a thriving business in 1995 during the infancy stage of the scrapbooking boom. She helped hundreds of clients turn their shoe boxes of printed photos into meaningful heirloom albums holding educational classes, hands-on workshops and weekend retreats. Ten years later, with the growing popularity of the digital camera, the computer became the virtual shoebox for most of our clients’ photo collections. As their digital photos rapidly multiplied, so did their frustration and confusion on how best to enjoy and share their stories and memories. The need for organizing and educating led to the formation of the Association of Personal Photo Organizers (APPO) in 2010. In 2012 Nancy became the west coast marketing manager and training specialist for APPO, helping to grow this emerging profession and educate the public that such a service existed that could help with their photo dilemma. Nancy is thrilled now to be able to focus exclusively on her own personal photo organizing clients and the expansion of SoCal Photo Solutions to include the services of her husband Gary. We are realizing our dream of having a family owned and run business that we can implement with integrity, respect and joy.
Gary McFarland
Gary brings more than 30 years of post-production video editing experience to SoCal Photo Solutions. He has worked with Hollywood’s Film Industry giants such as Disney, Lions Gate and Sony. His resume includes blockbusters like New Line’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Lucas Film’s Star Wars, Clone Wars. We are thrilled he is now bringing his experience producing for the big screen to creating slide and video presentations for our clients’ home screens. He brings his attention to detail and excellence to all our digitizing services, scanning, video and slide transfers.
